Mel Hyde is a filmmaker based in New York City. They grew up in the Bay Area in California and graduated from Drexel University, majoring in Film & TV Production in Philadelphia, PA.

They began their career as a local sports camera operator, screenwriter, and story developer in California and has since worked in various departments on films, TV shows, commercials, and social media videos in NYC and internationally (e.g., CBS's FBI Most Wanted, the United Nations, ABC News, One World Trade, etc.).

As a Photographer, they cover events, corporate shoots, portraits, and red carpets (e.g. Tribeca Film Festival,

TJ Maxx, Asian American International Film Festival, Philippines Consulate, PWHL, Off- Broadway Plays, etc ).

They are also an NYS EMT-B and Non-Union Set Medic. They work on a variety of shoots, including commercials and web series (e.g. Hot Ones, Calvin Klein, Aritzia, KITH, Sundance-nominated films, etc).
